NAPA "TRADITION" Returns to ACS on Labor Day Weekend
The NAPA "TRADITION" returns to the Adams County Speedway on September 2nd with over $30,000 in purse, Bonuses, & Contingency Awards up for grabs! Due to scheduling conflicts, this years event returns to it's roots with a one day event format, and slides up to take center stage in SW Iowa as part of the Labor Day Holiday Extravaganza weekend.
Saturday nights action will be Presented by NAPA Auto Parts and will go into "Pink out" mode once again as we promote breast cancer awareness in conjunction with CHI Mercy Medical Center of Corning.
STOCK CARS--The backbone class that got this event started back in 1998, will headline the night with a $2,500 to win 30 lap A-Feature dubbed as the "Ross Griffith Memorial", remembering the former ACS Fairboard President and contributor. As per the "Tradition" the finale will feature a 1/2 way pit stop on the front stretch that will give teams an opportunity to refuel and tweak on their cars for the final 15 lap showdown. No weight can be added or tires changed during the pit stop period.
HOBBY STOCKS-- The 2023 Hobby Stock portion of the event takes on a special meaning as we pay tribute to former ACS racer Jeremy Ribbey, with the 2nd Annual Jeremy Ribbey Memorial. Over $1,800 to date has been contributed to the purse by the friends of the 12g driver pushing the winners take to an impressive $1,512 to win with added money top to bottom. As a special twist, the Hobby Stock Feature will also feature a 1/2 way stop on lap 12 of the 24 lapper with the same rules applying as in the stock cars.
Also on the bill will be the Modifieds, B-Mods, and Compacts all running for their share of the $30k in prize money.
